Sino-Germany Dialogue Forum Inaugurated in Qingdao

On September 4th, 2019, the Sino-Germany Dialogue Forum was inaugurated in Qingdao, Shandong. Chinese Co-Chair Mr. Wan Gang (the Vice Chairman of the 13th CPPCC National Committee) and German Co-Chair Ms. Annette Schavan (former Minister of BMBF) attended the forum. Nearly 40 representatives from the two countries in the fields of politics, economy, academia, education, science and technology and journalism had in-depth discussions. Li Xuanhai (President of Shanghai University for the Elderly) was also present.
At the opening ceremony, Wan Gang said that both China and Germany are at an important stage of development. The two countries should not only develop themselves well, but also make contributions to world peace and stability and common development, so as to further develop Sino-Germany all-round strategic partnership to a high level.
Schavan said that Germany-China partnership has been developing well in recent years and she hopes that the this dialogue forum will make new contributions to further deepening exchanges and cooperation at the multilateral and bilateral levels under the new circumstances.
The Sino-Germany Dialogue Forum was inaugurated in 2005 at the initiative of the Prime Ministers of the two countries. It meets once a year and is held alternately between the two countries.
